Geometry in Context Project Scrapbook or Powerpoint
Unit 3 Project
During this chapter, we are studying polygons. You will be required to create a scrapbook of polygons found in the world around you. You can create a booklet or a powerpoint to display your project.
Your scrapbook/powerpoint will contain the following:
- A cover page with your name, date, and block and a title
- A table of contents
- A page for each of the following figures:
o Triangles
o Isosceles triangle (explain how you know)
o Right triangle (explain how you know)
o Special Quadrilaterals
o Parallelogram (list 2 characteristics)
o Rhombus (list 2 characteristics)
o Square (list 2 characteristics)
o Rectangle (list 2 characteristics)
o Trapezoid (list 2 characteristics)
o Kite (list 2 characteristics)
o Polygons
o Pentagon (find the sum of the interior angles)
o Hexagon (find the measure of one exterior angle of a regular hexagon)
o Octagon (find the measure of one interior angle of a regular octagon)
Each figure’s page will contain the following:
- Identify the figure
- A definition of that figure
- Find 1 example of that figure as found in magazines, photographs, product labels, etc.
- Captions to go with each picture telling what the picture is of and where you found it (ex: which magazine, website address, etc.)
- Specified information about that figure (this part is assigned in parentheses)
Your scrapbook will be graded on:
- Neatness and Creativity
- Following Directions
- Having all required elements
This project will be due on Friday, January 27.
